Underwriting Data Engineer (Healthtech)

Salary: $76,800 - $121,000 USD

What you will do

• Build and maintain data pipelines to clean, transform, and aggregate disparate data sources.
• Develop back-end systems for data extracts, pricing processes, and analytical tools using SQL, R, and Python.
• Collaborate with Underwriting and Clinical teams to create complex algorithms for data-driven insights.
• Analyze raw data from historical claims, Medi-Span, and NCPDP tables to interpret trends and patterns.
• Troubleshoot and customize infrastructure code in SQL, R, and Python to resolve data or process issues.
• Provide standard and ad-hoc analytics to support bid opportunities and rebate payment management.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Computer Science, or IT.
• 1+ year of experience with Python, SQL, and data visualization/exploration tools.
• 1+ year of proven experience in data analysis (e.g., financial analysis, actuarial services, accounting, pricing & underwriting).
• Familiarity with the AWS ecosystem, specifically Redshift and RDS.
• Experience in building or maintaining ETL processes.
• Must be based in the US.

• Experience with R.
• Knowledge of pharmaceutical claims.
