What you will do

• Create physically-based materials and textures for props, environments, and characters with minimal oversight.
• Build and maintain material libraries and pipelines.
• Collaborate with artists to integrate assets into visually consistent, immersive worlds.
• Match art styles while improving visual direction.
• Mentor junior artists on techniques and processes.

Requirements

• Portfolio with variety of materials using procedural and 3D sculpted techniques, including tiled and 0-1 UV assets showing strong detail and composition.
• Solid understanding of PBR standards and surface/light interactions.
• Driven to learn new workflows, technologies, and techniques.
• Strong foundation in traditional arts.
• Strong knowledge of Unreal Engine 5, Substance Designer, and Substance Painter.
• Strong knowledge of Maya or similar 3D modeling package; good knowledge of Zbrush.
• Solid understanding of color theory for balanced palettes.
• Punctual, diligent, articulate, and organized.

Nice to have

• Experience leading other artists.
• Shipped 2+ AAA titles as material artist.
• Experience with proprietary editors, software, and tools.
