Location: Onsite in Slough, United Kingdom (required 5 days a week)

What you will do

• Deploy and manage the physical rollout of new hardware into server racks.
• Support automated installations of operating systems and infrastructure services.
• Collaborate with teams to resolve hardware and network issues promptly to minimize downtime.
• Process RMAs to ensure consistent and adequate hardware levels.
• Participate in planning activities to identify future infrastructure requirements.

Requirements

• Solid experience working with computer or server hardware.
• Basic understanding of Data Centre infrastructure, including storage systems, networking devices, and PDUs.
• Knowledge of networking principles and protocols such as TCP/IP, VLANs, routing, switching, and cabling.
• Ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues across Linux, Windows, and MacOS.
• Must be able to work onsite at the Slough data centre five times a week.
• Work visa or immigration sponsorship is not available for this position.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of programming or scripting languages such as Python or Go.
• Experience with Raspberry Pi/SBC or maintaining phones and games consoles.
• Basic knowledge of electronics.
• Familiarity with OpenStack, Cumulus Linux, or Ceph.
