What you will do

• Design and develop scalable, maintainable backend solutions and AI-driven services.
• Implement features for AI Agents, Intelligent Routing, and Customer Insights.
• Collaborate with Product and Data Science teams to define and deliver technical solutions.
• Optimize system performance, reliability, and operational efficiency.
• Write unit and integration tests to ensure end-to-end quality across services.
• Mentor other engineers and contribute to the overall engineering quality of the team.

Requirements

• Must be based in Portugal.
• 5+ years of experience in backend software development with modern APIs and distributed services.
• Proficiency in backend languages such as Java, C#, or C/C++.
• Strong experience with SQL and/or NoSQL databases, including schema design.
• Deep understanding of backend architecture, service design, and integration patterns.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.

Nice to have

• Experience with AI-powered products, intelligent assistants, or routing systems.
• Familiarity with cloud environments such as Azure or AWS in globally distributed products.
• Knowledge of event-driven architectures, CI/CD pipelines, and observability.
• Experience leading backend initiatives from concept to delivery.
