Location: Remote from anywhere in the United States

Salary: $230,000 – $290,000 base + stock options

What you will do

• Set technical direction for algorithms, control methods, and optimization teams.
• Drive technical co-development with hardware and firmware strategic partners.
• Manage release plans, validation strategies, and product capabilities tracking.
• Partner with VP Engineering and VP Product to ensure production deployment and value packaging.
• Recruit, onboard, and mentor top talent in applied AI and control systems.
• Optimize resource allocation and budget for team effectiveness.

Requirements

• 10-15+ years of experience leading teams in algorithms, control systems, or applied AI.
• Deep technical background in control theory, power systems, optimization, ML, or signal processing.
• Proven experience with edge AI tools and offline/isolated control systems.
• Track record of developing leaders and mentoring senior engineers.
• Experience shipping research prototypes into products in a startup environment.
• Must be based in the United States.

Nice to have

• PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or Applied Mathematics.
• Experience with energy systems, power electronics, or grid-edge applications.
• Published research or granted patents in AI or power systems.
• Background in real-time systems or hard real-time operating systems.
• Experience with digital twins and hardware-in-the-loop simulation.
