Sr/Staff Engineer, Manufacturing Engineering (Battery Materials)

Location: Moses Lake, Washington, United States; onsite role

Base pay: $121,000–$175,000 per year, commensurate with level and experience

What you will do

• Provide hands-on mechanical engineering support for production equipment, including pumps, blowers, furnaces, and material handling systems.
• Troubleshoot daily production issues and implement practical design improvements and minor equipment modifications.
• Create and revise CAD models, fabrication drawings, and mechanical fixture designs.
• Support maintenance strategies, equipment health checks, maintenance procedures, lubrication plans, and condition-based monitoring.
• Review mechanical drawings and specifications for compliance with applicable codes, standards, and internal specifications.
• Work with vendors, contractors, operations, and maintenance teams on equipment repairs, upgrades, documentation, and technical solutions.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field.
• 4–8+ years of mechanical engineering experience, preferably in chemical process industries, manufacturing, or an equipment engineering environment.
• Experience with industrial processes and equipment such as pumps, motors, blowers, and valves.
• Proficiency with CAD software for mechanical design, drafting, and drawing review.
• Working knowledge of applicable codes, standards, and regulations for mechanical equipment in an industrial setting.
• Strong analytical, technical troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and effectively as part of a cross-functional team.
• Ability to wear required personal protective equipment, move items up to 50 lbs with lift equipment and carts, walk long distances, remain stationary for extended periods, access confined spaces narrower than 3 feet, climb stairs or containment walls, and perform precise repetitive material handling.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with high-temperature environments such as furnaces.
• Familiarity with Mechanical Integrity concepts within a Process Safety Management facility.
