TL;DR

Senior Software Architect (Mechatronic Infrastructure): Defining infrastructure software requirements and developing automated tests for vehicle mechatronic systems with an accent on ECU-level requirements and test automation. Focus on designing robust automation frameworks, ensuring safety and performance across GM’s global vehicle portfolio, and implementing C++ step definitions for Gherkin scenarios.

Location: Hybrid in Milford, Michigan or Warren, Michigan (minimum 3 days/week in office)

What you will do

• Lead technical direction for infrastructure solutions including Communications, Cybersecurity, and Data Management.
• Translate ECU-level requirements into deployable solutions and POD-level specifications.
• Design and implement automated test scenarios using Gherkin and C++ to verify system behavior.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to root-cause defects and improve design for testability.
• Mentor engineers in Python test development, AUTOSAR, and automotive communication protocols.
• Evaluate and scale new tools for requirements management and test automation.

Requirements

• Must be based in the US or eligible to work without sponsorship (no immigration sponsorship provided).
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.
• 5+ years of software experience with a focus on test automation for embedded or distributed systems.
• Proficiency in C++ for automation/tooling and knowledge of AUTOSAR Classic.
• Experience with automotive protocols: CAN, LIN, Ethernet, UDS, and DoIP.
• Strong understanding of SDLC, testing methodologies, and CI/CD practices.

Nice to have

• Master's degree in a technical field.
• 7-10 years of experience in embedded automotive software or SDV architectures.
• Experience with HIL systems and bench automation.
• Familiarity with service-oriented communication (SOME/IP, DDS, REST).
• Experience using AI/LLM models to streamline design and process flows.
