Autonomy Application Architect (Autonomous Systems)

Location: Irving, Texas; requires full-time onsite work at the Dallas office five days a week. Up to 10% travel may be required. Domestic relocation assistance is available. Visa sponsorship is not available.

Salary: $128,470–$208,770 per year.

What you will do

• Own vehicle-level solutions for autonomous machines and lead autonomy engineers in designing systems that perform real-world tasks.
• Design and implement autonomous machine capabilities from requirements through production.
• Evaluate, select, and deliver state-of-the-art technology solutions based on customer needs.
• Collaborate with software, hardware, platform, subsystem, global engineering, and cross-functional teams to define actionable delivery activities.
• Estimate project time and cost, analyze risks and benefits, and execute phased plans from simulation and proof of concept through production release.
• Triage and resolve system-level issues identified during development, validation, or production.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in an accredited Engineering or Computer Science curriculum.
• Experience working on production products through design, implementation, customer rollout, and support.
• Ability to decompose complex customer requirements into achievable technical requirements for product systems.
• Knowledge and experience with autonomous systems, preferably a hirify.global Command system such as Command for Hauling or Command for Dozing.
• Strong working knowledge of the hirify.global Command ecosystem in mining or construction, or comparable centralized control system architectures.
• Ability to communicate complex concepts, document system details and designs, explain tradeoffs, and align subsystem teams and stakeholders.
• Ability to use data-driven arguments, active listening, and tailored messaging to influence decisions and achieve consensus.

• Experience with hirify.global technology products.
• Experience with mining, construction, or agricultural machines and methods.
• Experience with product lifecycle and multi-generational technology products.
• Data analysis and issue investigation using custom scripts and tools.
• Knowledge of safety frameworks such as functional safety or SOTIF.
• Experience with simulation tools, SiL, and HiL test methods.
• Familiarity with C++ and Python.
• Development experience in a Linux environment.
