Salary: $50,000–$70,000

What you will do

• Shoot and transmit live and recorded video using ENG cameras, bonded cellular systems, satellite trucks, and IP workflows.
• Collaborate with reporters and producers for compelling visual storytelling.
• Operate lighting, audio, and field production gear for broadcast-quality output.
• Set up live shots under tight deadlines and manage news vehicles safely.
• Edit simple VO/SOTs in the field and troubleshoot equipment.
• Follow safety protocols in high-risk environments and assist with logistics for major events.

Requirements

• 3+ years as ENG Photographer in broadcast news.
• Strong knowledge of professional cameras (Sony, Panasonic).
• Experience with live transmission (LiveU, TVU, Dejero) and satellite trucks.
• Proficiency in field lighting and audio; non-linear editing required.
• Valid driver’s license with clean record; lift 50+ lbs.
• Flexible schedule: nights, weekends, holidays, extended coverage.

Nice to have

• Breaking news experience in top 10 market.
• FAA Part 107 drone certification.
• IP-based workflows and cloud ingest systems.
• Familiarity with Chicago metro area.
