What you will do

• Design and optimize backend Java solutions for a high-volume trade surveillance platform.
• Translate complex business processes into scalable software across multiple asset classes and data sources.
• Drive CI/CD practices and maintain performance standards using profiling and monitoring tools.
• Collaborate with multi-functional teams throughout all stages of the software development lifecycle.
• Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks to deliver innovative solutions that meet evolving product requirements.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent practical experience.
• At least 3 years of software development experience with strong expertise in backend Java.
• Deep knowledge of core Java fundamentals, including data structures, algorithms, and networking protocols.
• Proficiency with Linux environments and log analysis tools.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and performance profiling.
• Must have full working rights in Australia (Citizenship or Permanent Residency status).

Nice to have

• Experience in capital markets, fintech, or regulated industries (trading, clearing, or surveillance).
• Experience working with high transaction volumes and multiple asset classes (equities, fixed income, commodities).
• Knowledge of AWS or other cloud platforms.
