Supervisor, Client Advisory Services (CAS) (Accounting): Manage portfolio of client engagements including full-charge bookkeeping, monthly close, financial statement preparation, and advisory services with an accent on commercial and nonprofit clients. Focus on overseeing transactional accounting, controllership functions, process improvements, and staff supervision to ensure accurate, compliant deliverables.
Location: Full-time, in-office onsite at Wailuku, Maui office. Overtime and occasional client site visits expected.
Salary: $75,000 to $100,000

What you will do
- Coordinate planning, budgeting, scheduling, and execution of client engagements including transactional accounting and monthly close.
- Review deliverables for accuracy, completeness, and U.S. GAAP compliance; serve as primary liaison between clients, staff, and management.
- Maintain client relationships, deliver strategic recommendations on process improvements, internal controls, and technology adoption.
- Supervise bookkeepers and associates, delegate work, provide coaching, feedback, and support career progression.
- Leverage technology like cloud accounting platforms and automation for efficient deliverables; research technical issues and innovate solutions.
- Ensure operational excellence, maintain internal controls, and uphold firm quality standards on every engagement.
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years progressive experience in public accounting or full-charge accounting (AR/AP, bank reconciliations, journal entries, month-end close, GL maintenance, financial statements); 1–2 years supervisory.
- Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and general accounting principles.
- Proficient in QuickBooks Online and Desktop; Microsoft Office 365.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Demonstrated leadership, communication, time management, and problem-solving skills.
- Nonprofit accounting experience strongly preferred (fund accounting, Form 990).
Nice to have
- CPA license (Hawaii preferred).
- QuickBooks ProAdvisor certification.
