What you will do

• Lead qualification and introduction of new electro-optical systems and components into high-volume manufacturing
• Provide technical assessments, manufacturability evaluations, and design recommendations for electronic and mechanical assemblies
• Drive DFM reviews, milestone readiness, and continuous design improvements
• Own first-piece builds, prototype validation, and production readiness approvals
• Collaborate with design engineering, supply chain, and EMS partners for clear-to-build execution
• Investigate quality issues, implement corrective actions, and lead process and tooling improvements

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related discipline
• 5+ years in NPI for electromechanical subsystems in manufacturing
• Strong expertise in electronics and mechanical DFM assessments
• Hands-on knowledge of PCB assembly, soldering, and component integration
• Ability to manage multiple programs in fast-paced environment
• Strong written and verbal English communication skills for global partners
• Experience with contract manufacturers and suppliers

Nice to have

• Experience with optical or electro-optic transmission systems
• Hands-on fiber-optic assembly, splicing, and integration
• Prototype bring-up, system testing, and troubleshooting
• Knowledge of electronics manufacturing standards
• Engineering tools like ProEngineer, Agile, Microsoft Office
