TL;DR

Junior System Administrator: Supporting desktop computing environment and Tier 3 helpdesk for distributed North American workforce with an accent on hardware configuration, system imaging, asset tracking, and light server administration. Focus on triaging service desk tickets, maintaining IT documentation, and collaborating with senior admins on projects.

Location: Fully remote but must be located near Ankeny, Iowa, or Alpharetta, Georgia, as occasional travel to these offices will be required

What you will do

  • Provide Tier 3 helpdesk support for hardware, software, and network issues.
  • Manage desktop environments including device deployment, configuration, OS installation, and imaging.
  • Maintain accurate hardware asset tracking.
  • Create, update, and maintain IT documentation for consistent processes.
  • Collaborate with senior admins on projects and assist with light server administration.
  • Balance 80% service desk support with 20% project work in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

  • 1–3 years in Level 3 Helpdesk or similar technical support role
  • Strong knowledge of antivirus/antimalware tools (CrowdStrike preferred)
  • Solid understanding of DNS, DHCP, and networking fundamentals
  • Experience with hardware asset management and spam filtering
  • Strong ticket triage, prioritization, documentation, and organization skills

Nice to have

  • Experience with monitoring systems (SolarWinds, Spiceworks, Nagios)
  • Familiarity with EDR solutions, especially CrowdStrike
  • Experience in distributed or remote support environments
  • Bachelor’s degree in MIS, Computer Science, or related field
  • Relevant certifications (A+, MCSA, CCENT)
