What you will do

• Define and own technical strategy for modernising legacy systems into web and SaaS solutions.
• Provide architectural oversight, set coding standards, and review technical designs.
• Line-manage small development team, handle recruitment, mentoring, and performance.
• Own cloud infrastructure in Azure, CI/CD pipelines, and company security practices.
• Promote AI tools for productivity while ensuring compliance.
• Collaborate with stakeholders on project planning and delivery.

Requirements

• Must be based in the UK for fully remote work with occasional travel to Aberdeen.
• Proven experience in software development with legacy desktop tech (VB6, WinForms, .NET).
• Experience modernising systems to web/cloud platforms.
• Strong knowledge of Azure (or AWS/GCP), modern web tech, API design, OAuth2/OpenID.
• CI/CD, Git workflows, automated testing.
• Ability to lead and mentor developers.

• Hands-on VB6/WinForms.
• Multi-tenant SaaS, microservices, Docker/Kubernetes.
