TL;DR

Technical Lead, Central AI Lab (AI): Build and ship production-grade AI capabilities reusable across Vesta Business Units with an accent on full-stack implementations, DevOps practices, security, and handover discipline. Focus on designing end-to-end solutions, establishing CI/CD patterns for AI systems, and creating reference architectures for heterogeneous BU stacks.

Location: Remote (UK). Occasional UK travel for workshops and events; optional international travel.

What you will do

  • Deliver reusable AI starter kits like maintenance automation, AI-SDLC, and sales acceleration tools.
  • Build production-ready pilots with monitoring, evaluation, runbooks, and BU handover processes.
  • Own end-to-end solution design, implementation, and technical discovery with BUs on constraints and integrations.
  • Establish CI/CD, reliability measures, observability, and governance-by-design for AI systems.
  • Coach engineers on modern SDLC, DevOps, and AI delivery; contribute to playbooks and case studies.

Requirements

  • 7+ years building and operating production software systems (SaaS/enterprise)
  • Strong SDLC: testing, CI/CD, release management, incident response
  • Secure systems design: authN/Z, secrets, audit/logging, least privilege
  • Backend engineering (APIs, data stores, async) with full-stack comfort
  • Cloud/DevOps (AWS/Azure, containers, IaC)
  • Practical AI/LLM integration into products/workflows
  • Autonomy across varied tech stacks (legacy/modern) and stakeholder communication

Nice to have

  • Modernization patterns (strangler, wrappers)
  • Model Context Protocol (MCP) or similar
  • Shipping customer-facing automation or knowledge systems
  • Vertical market software or multi-product experience
