What you will do

• Coach and support engineers through regular, honest feedback and growth planning.
• Partner with product, design, and technology leaders to set direction and align priorities.
• Attract and retain strong engineering talent to build a high-performing team.
• Lead tier-3 engineering support, including triage, resolution, and root cause analysis.
• Collaborate across engineering groups on integrations, best practices, and new technologies.
• Participate in technical design discussions and architectural decisions across the organization.

Requirements

• Must be based in the US (all 50 states).
• 5+ years of experience leading engineering teams with a track record of developing people.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills to influence decisions and navigate disagreements.
• Experience managing teams delivering production software across the full product lifecycle.
• Solid understanding of application architecture, integration design, deployment, and testing.
• Ability to clear a background check.

Nice to have

• Experience with AWS (API Gateway, Elastic Beanstalk, Aurora, Lambda, S3, CloudWatch).
• Proficiency in Java / Spring Boot and React / TypeScript.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines (AWS CodePipeline, CodeBuild).
• Knowledge of mobile development, infrastructure-as-code, or SSO platforms.
• Background in ed-tech, career platforms, or two-sided marketplaces.
• Experience in a startup or early-stage technology company.
