What you will do
- Coach and support engineers through regular, honest feedback and growth planning.
- Partner with product, design, and technology leaders to set direction and align priorities.
- Attract and retain strong engineering talent to build a high-performing team.
- Lead tier-3 engineering support, including triage, resolution, and root cause analysis.
- Collaborate across engineering groups on integrations, best practices, and new technologies.
- Participate in technical design discussions and architectural decisions across the organization.
Requirements
- Must be based in the US (all 50 states).
- 5+ years of experience leading engineering teams with a track record of developing people.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills to influence decisions and navigate disagreements.
- Experience managing teams delivering production software across the full product lifecycle.
- Solid understanding of application architecture, integration design, deployment, and testing.
- Ability to clear a background check.
Nice to have
- Experience with AWS (API Gateway, Elastic Beanstalk, Aurora, Lambda, S3, CloudWatch).
- Proficiency in Java / Spring Boot and React / TypeScript.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines (AWS CodePipeline, CodeBuild).
- Knowledge of mobile development, infrastructure-as-code, or SSO platforms.
- Background in ed-tech, career platforms, or two-sided marketplaces.
- Experience in a startup or early-stage technology company.
