What you will do

• Control and operate transmission, substation, and mainline distribution resources from a reliability perspective.
• Maintain operating standards in compliance with NERC, PJM, and PUCO regulations.
• Coordinate and direct all switching and tagging activities to achieve LOTO isolation on electrical equipment.
• Monitor generation resources, VAR flow, and voltage levels to prevent contingency violations.
• Respond to transmission and distribution disturbances to ensure a continuous supply of electricity.
• Mentor System Operator Trainees and update department Standard Operating Procedures.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or technical discipline (desired) or an Associate's degree with aptitude for math and electrical theory.
• Must obtain NERC and PJM Certifications within one year of employment.
• Must successfully pass a Personnel Risk Assessment, including identity verification and a criminal background check.
• Ability to work rotating 12-hour shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Ability to apply concepts of algebra, geometry, and basic electrical theory.
• Ability to stand up to 2/3 of the time and work in a control room environment.
