Assembly Supervisor (UAS)

TL;DR

Assembly Supervisor (UAS): Oversee daily electromechanical assembly operations for unmanned aerial systems with an accent on team leadership, product quality, safety, and on-time delivery. Focus on applying Lean manufacturing principles, troubleshooting assembly issues, and driving continuous improvement through kaizen events and process optimization.

Location: Onsite in Torrance, CA. Must provide proof of U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Residence (ITAR/EAR restrictions, no sponsorship)

Compensation: $77k - $114k, plus equity and bonuses

What you will do

• Supervise and coordinate assembly technicians, plan work, monitor workflow, and resolve bottlenecks to meet production schedules.
• Provide hands-on support for drone component assembly, troubleshoot issues, and ensure compliance with IPC and aerospace standards.
• Lead QDIP meetings, implement 5S, standard work, takt planning, and drive kaizen events for process improvement.
• Train and mentor team on assembly skills, safety, and Lean methods; conduct performance reviews and foster accountability.
• Collaborate with planning, supply chain, engineering, and quality for material availability, NPI, and manufacturability feedback.

Requirements

• U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident (ITAR/EAR compliance required)
• 3–5+ years in electromechanical or aerospace assembly; prior supervisory experience.
• Strong Lean principles knowledge (5S, standard work, visual management).
• Hands-on with engineering drawings, wiring diagrams, ERP systems.
• Excellent communication, coaching, problem-solving in fast-paced environment.
• Ability to lift 50lbs, stand for long periods, work in varying conditions.

Nice to have

• Experience in unmanned systems, defense manufacturing.
• IPC-A-610, IPC-WHMA-A-620 certification.
• NPI support and root-cause tools (5 Why, Fishbone, A3).
