Senior Fullstack Engineer

TL;DR

Senior Fullstack Engineer (Node/TypeScript/React/Java/AWS): Develop and maintain full-stack services for a B2B platform powering audio broadcasting with an accent on microservices architecture, API design, and scalable infrastructure. Focus on leading prototyping, mentoring engineers, implementing DevOps practices, and ensuring security and reliability in production environments.

Hybrid in Manchester, UK (in-office presence twice a week required), participation in in-hours and out-of-hours incident management rotas.

What you will do

• Develop and maintain full-stack services, owning specific tools and areas as subject matter expert.
• Contribute to architectural components and prototypes, shaping technical direction.
• Lead small feature sub-teams, mentor juniors/mids through code review and pair-working.
• Collaborate with product/technology teams to align on requirements and risks.
• Champion DevOps (CI/CD, automation, observability) and testing strategies with QA.
• Participate in incident management rotas and contribute to recruitment/onboarding.

Requirements

• Significant full-stack experience with depth in client/server layers of modern web products.
• Proficiency in Node/TypeScript + React, Java backend, AWS/Kubernetes/Kafka (or similar).
• Understanding of microservices, API design, event-driven systems, cloud deployment.
• Experience with CI/CD, Docker/Kubernetes, IaC, observability in production.
• Proven mentoring/leading teams, security awareness (OWASP), problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and adaptability in fast-paced environments.

Nice to have

• Media/audio streaming/consumer platform experience.
• Incident management for 24/7 services.
• Interest in AI-assisted tooling (Copilot, Claude).
• Technical writing/documentation skills.
