What you will do

• Transform legacy COBOL business logic into modern Java 21 technologies within a Scrum environment.
• Analyze and create software development concepts for tasks of basic to medium complexity.
• Ensure code quality through Code Reviews, JUnit testing, and performance optimization.
• Execute and monitor background processes and batch jobs using the APX job control system.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deploy and maintain applications in IBM Host z/OS and RHEL environments.
• Manage technical documentation and knowledge transfer using Jira and Confluence.

Requirements

• 2+ years of experience in Java 21 (Java EE) development with understanding of enterprise architecture.
• Practical experience with IBM WebSphere (AS 9, Liberty) and OpenShift or Kubernetes.
• Strong knowledge of relational databases such as DB2, Oracle 23, and PostgreSQL.
• Ability to read and debug COBOL code to facilitate successful migration.
• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and version control systems like Git, Maven, or Jenkins.
• Intermediate+ level of English and German required.
