Staff iOS Engineer (Growth)

Location: Mountain View, California or San Francisco, California; on-site/hybrid

Salary: $213,000–$263,000 USD per year

What you will do

• Define the long-term architectural roadmap for the iOS platform and prepare the codebase to scale across new cities.
• Build and own foundational frameworks for networking, authentication, and local data persistence.
• Set engineering standards for Swift development, including Swift Concurrency and UI performance.
• Lead technical design reviews and promote modular, performant architecture.
• Partner with product managers, designers, and vehicle or robotics engineers.
• Mentor senior engineers and guide them through complex technical challenges.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science or a similar technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 6+ years of experience building and shipping mobile applications from scratch.
• Production experience with SwiftUI and a focus on pixel-perfect, user-facing products.
• Experience with client-server protocols including gRPC and Protobuf.
• Experience with Bluetooth, Bluetooth LE, and test-driven development.

Nice to have

• Experience releasing applications on the iOS App Store.
• Experience with UIKit, Core Animation, and other iOS libraries.
• Experience with C++.
