Location: Hybrid: Must live in or near San Francisco, CA and work from the office 3 days per week

Salary: $225k – $250k base + equity

What you will do

• Own the technical vision and architecture for the monetization platform, including billing, pricing, and provisioning.
• Lead the billing engineering team by setting technical standards and mentoring engineers through design and code reviews.
• Design extensible systems to launch new pricing models and product tiers without requiring architectural rewrites.
• Manage the entitlements and access control layer between billing state and product access.
• Build and maintain financial infrastructure for reconciliation, audit trails, and revenue reporting.
• Collaborate with Finance, Sales, and Product leadership to translate business needs into technical strategy.

Requirements

• 10+ years of software engineering experience with a deep focus on monetization or billing systems.
• Proven experience owning the technical strategy for a monetization platform in production.
• Experience building high-stakes revenue pipelines where data correctness is critical.
• Strong backend engineering fundamentals; Python and Django experience is a plus.
• Ability to design for evolution and handle trade-offs between durability, idempotency, and latency.
• Must be based in or near San Francisco, CA.

Nice to have

• Experience with SaaS financial close processes or revenue recognition.
• Knowledge of multi-product or multi-tier pricing architectures.
• Exposure to revenue operations tools like Salesforce CPQ or Rillet.
• Background as a technical anchor in high-growth SaaS environments.
