Salary: $176,000 - $200,000 base (plus equity and benefits).

What you will do

• Design, build, and operate backend systems powering licensing and consumption-based billing.
• Own end-to-end features from problem framing and technical design to launch and iteration.
• Architect systems for access control, usage tracking, and automated license assignment.
• Partner with Product, Design, Data, Finance, and engineering teams to deliver reliable solutions.
• Drive technical excellence through refactors, testing, instrumentation, code reviews, and mentorship.

Requirements

• Strong experience building production-grade backend distributed systems, APIs, and complex data modeling.
• Proven ability to translate ambiguous architectural problems into actionable technical plans.
• Experience owning large-scale projects with multiple stakeholders and technical dependencies.
• Strong debugging and operational instincts for revenue-critical systems.
• Collaborative communicator experienced in cross-functional enterprise platform challenges.
• Curiosity about AI tools and emerging technologies.

Nice to have

• Experience with billing, payments, entitlements, or SaaS monetization.
• Familiarity with usage-based or consumption-based pricing models.
• Experience building admin tools or operational dashboards.
• Background in platform, backend, or distributed systems.
