What you will do

• Lead the design and implementation of multi-stage AI-native recommendation pipelines, including Generative Retrieval, Deep Ranking, and Re-ranking.
• Translate SOTA research from venues like NeurIPS, KDD, and RecSys into robust, production-ready code.
• Research and develop information-rich embeddings using unsupervised and generative approaches for user and ad representation.
• Scale generative models in high-concurrency environments, ensuring performance under extreme production constraints.
• Mentor junior scientists and lead architectural debates to drive team excellence.

Requirements

• PhD in CS, Stats, Math, or Physics (or MSc with extensive industry research experience).
• Proven track record of publications in top-tier venues such as SIGIR, KDD, NeurIPS, or ICLR.
• 4+ years of professional experience building large-scale recommenders in AdTech, E-commerce, or Social media.
• Deep proficiency in PyTorch, including experience with model quantization and distillation.
• Must be based in or able to relocate to Berlin, Germany.
