Staff DevOps Engineer (AI)

TL;DR

Staff DevOps Engineer (Kubernetes/GCP): Architecting and evolving the infrastructure for an AI-powered healthcare platform with an accent on GKE, Terraform, and CI/CD pipelines. Focus on implementing security compliance (SOC2, HIPAA), driving disaster recovery programs, and building agentic infrastructure tooling.

Location: Hybrid: Must be based in New York City (4 days/week in office)

Salary: $160,000 - $190,000 USD

What you will do

• Design and evolve GKE-based Kubernetes infrastructure across company and partner environments.
• Build and maintain a Terraform modular infrastructure library for GCP, Cloudflare, and AWS.
• Architect GitLab CI/CD shared pipeline templates for all engineering teams.
• Maintain self-hosted tools including GitLab, ArgoCD, and Langfuse.
• Implement security and compliance controls (SOC2, HIPAA) and secrets management.
• Lead disaster recovery readiness, failover scenarios, and runbook authorship.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in DevOps, platform engineering, or SRE.
• Deep expertise in Kubernetes (Helm, ArgoCD, Kyverno, NGINX Ingress).
• Extensive experience with GCP (GKE, Cloud SQL, IAM).
• Strong Terraform skills with modular architecture and automated testing.
• Proficiency in Python and/or Go.
• Must be based in New York City.

Nice to have

• Experience with Akeyless, HashiCorp Vault, or Datadog.
• Database administration across PostgreSQL, Redis, and MongoDB.
• Experience with HPC or GPU cluster infrastructure, including Slurm.
• Background in highly regulated environments (SOC2, HIPAA).
• Experience building or operating AI agents.
