What you will do

• Support design and analysis of optical systems, including lenses, illumination, detectors, lasers, and optomechanical components.
• Perform hands-on laboratory work involving optical alignment, characterization, and troubleshooting of prototypes.
• Conduct system modeling and performance analysis using simulation and data analysis tools.
• Execute engineering experiments, including data collection and documentation of results.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams for system integration and debugging.
• Contribute to the verification, validation, and qualification of optical system performance.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Optical Engineering, Physics, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field (Advanced degree preferred).
• 2+ years of experience (or 0+ years with a Master's or PhD).
• Foundational experience with optical systems, photonics, or optoelectronic devices.
• Hands-on laboratory experience with optical alignment and measurement.
• Understanding of optical principles: imaging, diffraction, polarization, and radiometry.
• Familiarity with tools such as Zemax, Code V, MATLAB, or Python.
