Workshop Technician

What you will do

• Plan and schedule machining activities for ongoing production and development tasks.
• Manufacture components and sub-components from engineering drawings within specified tolerances.
• Perform manual machining and mechanical workshop activities.
• Build different types of jigs for workshop and manufacturing applications.
• Operate workshop machinery and support basic welding and mechanical fabrication work.
• Maintain machinery in fully functional condition and ensure high-quality workmanship.

Requirements

• Grade 12 school qualification.
• Qualification as a manual lathe and manual milling machine operator.
• Skilled in reading mechanical engineering drawings.
• Ability to manufacture components within specified tolerances.
• Confidence operating a variety of workshop machinery.
• Basic welding and fabrication skills.
