What you will do

  • Inspect and validate autonomous vehicle hardware, including Lidar, Radar, cameras, ultrasonic sensors, and compute units.
  • Verify sensor installation, alignment, connectivity, mounting hardware, fasteners, wiring harnesses, seals, and mechanical assemblies.
  • Perform functional hardware checks, sensor readiness validations, bench characterization, and post-repair inspections.
  • Support calibration of Lidar, Radar, and camera systems and operate diagnostic tools and onboard vehicle interfaces.
  • Document test results using 4Cs standards and maintain traceable hardware and mechanical inspection records.
  • Identify defects, track corrective actions, escalate recurring failure patterns, and support technical reviews with engineering staff and the AV Safety Manager.

Requirements

  • Diploma or bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Physics, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • 2–5 years of experience in hardware testing, electronics QA, light mechanical maintenance, or automotive, aerospace, industrial, or AV technical operations.
  • Hands-on experience with optical, electrical, or sensor hardware; Lidar or Radar familiarity is advantageous.
  • Practical experience with mechanical assembly, fastener systems, torque tools, basic vehicle maintenance, and diagnostic equipment.
  • Strong attention to detail, methodical inspection and documentation skills, and basic data analysis ability.
  • Ability to lift and carry assemblies exceeding 25 kg and stand for extended periods; a valid UAE driving license is preferred.
