TL;DR

Field Service Engineer (MOCVD): Install, calibrate, repair, and maintain semiconductor MOCVD vacuum equipment at customer sites with an accent on troubleshooting complex malfunctions and delivering service support strategies. Focus on leading on-site installations, testing, upgrades, and training customer personnel on equipment operation.

Location: Onsite in Villach, Austria. Fluent in English and German required. Travel 50% to multiple sites in multiple countries.

What you will do

  • Install, modify, repair, and perform preventive maintenance on MOCVD vacuum equipment following procedures.
  • Lead on-site installations, upgrades, testing, and repairs of equipment.
  • Conduct final configuration, functionality testing, and host customer acceptance tests.
  • Train hirify.global and customer personnel on equipment operation and maintenance.
  • Interface with technical support, mentor junior staff, and maintain customer relationships through regular meetings.
  • Create reports, project plans, and perform site audits to ensure service quality.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree and minimum 2 years in technical customer service, or equivalent.
  • Experience with vacuum and electro-mechanical systems; understanding of basic software/programming.
  • Fluent in English and German with excellent communication skills.
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills to resolve complex issues independently.
  • Able to travel 50%+ to multiple countries and available for emergency call-ins.
  • Ability to build customer relationships and prioritize problem resolution.
