What you will do

• Establish engineering standards and principles within your domain.
• Solve complex technical problems across teams and influence long-term strategy.
• Drive prioritisation to align squad goals with broader Energy strategy.
• Roll out strategic operational and security improvements across multiple squads.
• Set and achieve SLOs/SLAs, handle critical incident escalations.
• Lead discovery into unknowns on large-scale projects.

Requirements

• Expert knowledge of Go, gRPC, GraphQL, Postgres, and Kafka.
• Deep experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and Terraform.
• Proficiency in CI/CD tooling such as GitHub Actions and ArgoCD.
• Track record of improving stability, performance, and scalability in business-critical systems.
• Ability to mentor senior team members, provide context over instruction, and lead by example.
