What you will do

• Define modernisation roadmaps and target-state architecture for services and data flows.
• Implement hands-on changes in product codebases, refactoring legacy components and decomposing monoliths.
• Introduce cloud-native patterns including microservices, event-driven architecture, and containerization.
• Automate tenant lifecycle management and environment provisioning to reduce manual operational processes.
• Establish tenant-aware observability through consistent logging, metrics, and alerting across services.
• Collaborate with DevOps, Cybersecurity, and Product teams to ensure regulatory and operational compliance.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in cloud architecture, platform engineering, or senior software engineering roles.
• Demonstrated experience delivering application modernisation programmes within AWS environments.
• Strong proficiency in Java-based systems or comparable backend stacks.
• Proven expertise with Kubernetes or equivalent container orchestration platforms.
• Experience implementing microservices, event-driven architectures, and distributed systems.
• Must be based in South Africa, Poland, Netherlands, Norway, Estonia, or Ireland.
