Junior/Regular Software Engineer, Troubleshooter 5G (5G)

Location: Poznań, Poland; hybrid work with office and home options.

What you will do

• Maintain software embedded in Distributed Units, including PHY, MAC, and RLC layers on the gNB side.
• Provide Tier 3 customer support and analyze Trouble Reports to determine whether issues are software-related.
• Forward software issues to R&D teams for code fixes and support upper support tiers with analysis of other issues.
• Investigate software, interference, coverage, hardware, optimization, environment, and undefined network problems.
• Cooperate with testers and laboratories handling internal Trouble Reports and new software testing.
• Use scripts to analyze large volumes of data and troubleshoot cases such as crashes, throughput degradation, voice-quality degradation, and sleeping cells.

Requirements

• Knowledge and experience with LTE or 5G protocols, especially the Uu interface, including PHY, MAC, RLC, PDCP, and SA versus NSA.
• Understanding of the UE attach procedure and common issues in 4G or 5G networks.
• Experience with troubleshooting.
• Self-sufficiency in the Linux terminal, including file operations, directory navigation, and unzipping files.
• Ability to read and understand C code.
• Higher technical education in Computer Science or a related field.
• Knowledge of IT or telecommunications.
• Ability to organize personal work, show initiative, share knowledge, and support team members.
• Very good written and spoken English.
• Willingness to stay with the role long term while building the required expertise.
