Software Development Engineer II, Post Submit Experience (Backend Fintech)

Location: Hybrid role based in Seattle, WA office with at least 50% in-office expectation (typically 3 days/week)

Salary: $144,000–$180,000 base + equity

What you will do

• Design and build scalable backend services and APIs using Java or Go for post-transaction experiences like notifications and tracking.
• Own service reliability through monitoring, incident response, and performance improvements.
• Write clean code with tests, participate in code reviews, and create technical specs.
• Collaborate with PMs, data scientists, support, and engineers on task breakdown, estimates, and tradeoffs.
• Mentor junior engineers via pairing, reviews, and knowledge sharing.

Requirements

• 4+ years professional backend development experience building production systems
• Strong skills in Java, Go, or similar; ability to learn new tech
• Experience with distributed systems on cloud platforms, especially AWS
• Knowledge of engineering best practices: testing, version control, CI/CD, agile
• Degree in CS/Engineering or equivalent
• Effective collaboration and communication with stakeholders
