Senior Technical Application Specialist (MFA): Engineering, configuration, onboarding, and operational support of Multi-Factor Authentication solutions across a complex regulated estate with an accent on secure, resilient, compliant, and scalable controls for human and non-human identities. Focus on designing complex MFA integrations across cloud, SaaS, on-premise, and legacy platforms, defining enterprise standards, and leading during migrations and incidents.
Location: Leeds or Manchester (hybrid, at least two days per week or 40% of time in office)

What you will do
- Act as technical authority for MFA and enterprise authentication controls
- Lead design, delivery, and assurance of complex MFA integrations across diverse platforms
- Define and own enterprise MFA patterns, standards, and guardrails
- Review authentication designs and provide leadership during migrations and decommissioning
- Handle escalations for high-impact MFA incidents and drive operational resilience
- Support audits, partner with stakeholders, mentor engineers, and contribute to MFA strategy
Requirements
- Significant experience as senior technical specialist in Identity & Access Management or authentication
- Deep hands-on expertise in enterprise-scale MFA solutions
- Strong understanding of authentication protocols (SAML, OIDC, OAuth2, Radius)
- Proven experience integrating authentication in large, complex, regulated environments
- Strong troubleshooting across identity, application, and infrastructure layers
- Ability to operate across strategy, design, delivery, and operations
Nice to have
- Exposure to risk-based or conditional access models
- Understanding of non-human identities, APIs, or workload authentication
- Experience contributing to enterprise security standards or frameworks
