Location: Hybrid in Toronto, Canada. Eligibility to work in Canada in a full-time capacity is required.

Salary: $115,000–$125,000

What you will do

• Design, deploy, and maintain database solutions using AWS RDS (PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle, SQL Server), DynamoDB, and Aurora.
• Optimize database performance through query tuning, indexing, and schema design for high-volume transactional systems.
• Execute cloud migrations from on-premises Oracle to AWS PostgreSQL, managing schema and data migration.
• Automate database provisioning, maintenance, and scaling using Infrastructure-as-Code.
• Ensure database security via IAM policies, encryption (KMS, TLS), and industry compliance auditing.
• Provide 24/7 rotating production support for critical production systems.

Requirements

• 5-7+ years of experience as a Database Engineer, with 3-4 years specifically in AWS database services.
• Strong expertise in relational databases (PostgreSQL) and NoSQL (DynamoDB).
• Proficiency in Python or Bash for database automation and maintenance.
• Experience with AWS EC2, S3, RDS, Aurora, DMS, and AWS Schema Conversion tool (SCT).
• Full-time eligibility to work for hirify.global Corp. in Canada.
• Strong experience with Production support, including Incident and Change Management.

Nice to have

• AWS Certifications: Database Specialty, Solutions Architect, or DevOps Engineer.
• Knowledge of ETL processes and tools.
• Familiarity with containerization and orchestration tools.
• ITIL or other relevant database management certifications.
