What you will do

• Define and own the enterprise analytics architecture across Microsoft Fabric and Databricks, aligning design with long-term data strategy.
• Architect and optimize large-scale semantic and data models, including incremental refresh, partitioning, and aggregation strategies.
• Establish a governed metrics layer using DBT to ensure clear definitions and separation between transformation and consumption.
• Design and enforce data governance and access control using Unity Catalog, RBAC, and workspace isolation.
• Lead system-level performance diagnostics to identify bottlenecks in modeling, DAX logic, Spark processing, or capacity strategy.

Requirements

• Strong production experience with Fabric / Power BI Premium capacity and performance under high concurrency.
• Hands-on expertise in Databricks and SparkSQL, including data governance via Unity Catalog.
• Proven ability to build and scale metrics layer architectures (DBT preferred) in an enterprise environment.
• Experience diagnosing complex performance issues across modeling, compute, and capacity layers.
• Must be based in or able to work from Cologne, Germany.
