What you will do

• Lead the design and implementation of Houdini pipeline components and tools across VFX, Data Capture, and Virtual Production.
• Develop high-quality, maintainable Python and C++/HDK code.
• Translate production pain points into robust APIs and frameworks for downstream developers.
• Mentor mid-level and junior engineers through code reviews, pairing, and technical guidance.
• Contribute to architectural discussions and maintain comprehensive technical documentation.
• Integrate innovative approaches using USD, Solaris, and other emerging technologies.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience developing and supporting Houdini workflows in a production environment.
• Strong proficiency in Python for building Houdini tools.
• Deep background in software architecture and framework design for DCC pipelines.
• Proven ability to lead technical initiatives from concept through delivery.
• Experience with git and modern software development practices, including testing and CI.
• Must be based in British Columbia or be willing to relocate.

Nice to have

• Experience with USD and Solaris.
• Familiarity with HDK/C++.
• Previous experience mentoring or leading other engineers.
