What you will do

• Own and deliver quarterly goals, leading engineers through ambiguity to solve open-ended problems.
• Collaborate with product management, design, and analytics to articulate technical constraints and manage risks.
• Proactively identify and lead the resolution of project, process, technology, or business issues.
• Support operations and availability of team artifacts through monitoring and on-call efforts.
• Foster a culture of quality by setting and improving code review and design standards.
• Develop talent within the team by providing feedback, guidance, and leading by example.

Requirements

• 4+ years of experience designing and launching backend systems at scale using Python or Kotlin.
• Proven track record of developing highly available distributed systems using AWS, MySQL, and Kubernetes.
• Experience building CI/CD, deployment, or release automation systems to reduce manual toil.
• Ability to define technical plans for significant features with simple and extensible designs.
• Proficiency in making significant changes within a large codebase safely.
• Must be based in Canada.
