What you will do

• Lead 3D character art and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, including narrative and design.
• Mentor and inspire a team of artists through all phases of production.
• Create scalable art workflows and internal/external style guides to define high quality bars.
• Ensure character designs uphold gameplay fairness and support split-second player decisions.
• Align all character art output with the Art Director's visual goals and directions.

Requirements

• Proven leadership experience in early AAA game development.
• Expert knowledge of Unreal Engine and DCC tools (Maya, Blender, or Max, and Substance).
• Deep understanding of character art requirements for competitive action or fighting games.
• Strong expertise in stylized art and character customization scaling.
• Strategic thinking and high attention to detail in a production environment.
• Must be based in the United States.

Nice to have

• Experience in platformer genre development.
• Experience working with high-angle isometric camera perspectives.
• Experience leading teams on live service games (GaaS).
