Embedded Software Engineer

TL;DR

Embedded Software Engineer (Power Systems): Design, develop, and deploy embedded software and control strategies for hirify.global Electronic Systems supporting the Electric Power Generation industry with an accent on C programming, hardware integration, and system-level optimization. Focus on implementing unit tests, SIL simulation, debugging complex issues, and contributing to software architecture.

Location: Must work onsite five days a week at the Mossville, IL office. Domestic relocation assistance available. Visa sponsorship not available. Up to 10% travel.

What you will do

• Design, optimize, and implement embedded software and control strategies using C.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate software into platform-level solutions.
• Develop and execute unit tests to validate functionality in bench and lab environments.
• Support verification, validation, and continuous improvement of software practices.
• Participate in architecture discussions, design reviews, and documentation.
• Debug and resolve software and system-level issues with hardware and controls engineers.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or higher, or equivalent professional expertise.
• Knowledge of embedded software development, embedded systems structure, and programming languages.
• Apply coding best practices for reliable, maintainable software.
• Experience with Engine Control systems, SIL simulation, and validation.
• Strong technical troubleshooting, analytical thinking, and data analysis tools (e.g., CANape, CANcase).
• Ability to work onsite in Mossville, IL; no visa sponsorship.
