What you will do

• Build high-throughput, cost-effective data pipelines to support feature extraction and indexing for a web-scale IR system.
• Develop and optimize core algorithms and ranking models using the Rust programming language.
• Design and implement efficient data structures and indexing techniques for massive web datasets.
• Optimize the performance, scalability, and reliability of query parsing, retrieval, and result rendering.
• Collaborate with machine learning teams to integrate and deploy advanced models for query understanding and personalization.
• Develop and maintain control plane systems to orchestrate distributed compute clusters and storage infrastructure.

Requirements

• 3+ years of professional software development experience.
• 2+ years of experience in the design and architecture of reliable and scalable systems.
• Experience developing large-scale, multi-tiered, distributed applications using C#, C++, Java, or Perl.
• Strong proficiency in Object Oriented Design and computer science fundamentals.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field.
• Must be based in or able to work from Sunnyvale, CA.

Nice to have

• Proficiency in Rust.
• 3+ years of full software development life cycle (SDLC) experience, including code reviews and operations.
