Senior Animator (VFX)

TL;DR

Location: Hybrid in Vancouver, British Columbia. Candidates are required to be based in British Columbia and eligible to work in Canada.

Salary: $105,000 to $122,000/year

What you will do

• Create convincing performances and motion for character and non-character assets.
• Execute the majority of difficult shots with minimal direction from Leads or Supervisors.
• Collaborate with the production team to manage schedules and meet shot deadlines.
• Perform thorough quality control on all submitted animation to ensure artistic and technical accuracy.
• Mentor junior artists and assist with QC of their work.
• Provide input on tools and interfaces to improve production throughput.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience animating character and non-character assets for VFX or feature films.
• Expert level knowledge of Maya.
• Demonstrated expertise in traditional animation principles, acting, and compositional design.
• Strong visual storytelling skills and proficiency in cinematography (camera angles, composition).
• Must be based in British Columbia and eligible to work in Canada.

Nice to have

• Working knowledge of Motion Capture.
• Working knowledge of Rigging.
