Gameplay Animator (Unreal Engine)

Location: Hybrid role in Burnaby, British Columbia, Canada

Salary: CAD $60,500–$89,540 per year at the start of employment, with potential bonus, equity awards, and benefits.

What you will do

• Develop and implement authentic sports animations for polished gameplay features.
• Take animation features from ideation through final implementation in Unreal Engine.
• Collaborate with animation, design, engineering, AI, and production partners.
• Support animation-based feature design and influence technical implementation.
• Manage motion-capture shot lists and reference materials throughout production.
• Champion animation quality, authenticity, and player-focused decision-making.

Requirements

• Professional experience as a gameplay animator.
• Experience developing and shipping AAA games using Unreal Engine 4 or 5.
• Experience with second-to-second interactive animation features.
• Strong understanding of human mechanics, particularly sports behaviors.
• Passion for sports games and a player-experience-focused approach.
• Organized, proactive, open-minded, and collaborative working style.
