Senior Animator (Minecraft)

Location: Fully remote. Employment is currently available in Germany, the UK, Republic of Ireland, and Austria; Canada, the US, and Croatia are expected to follow. Fixed-term contractor arrangements are available outside the employment countries.

Salary: €30,940–€35,880 gross per annum for 30 hours per week as an employee.

What you will do

• Create expressive, high-quality animations for emotes and cosmetics.
• Lead production and ongoing maintenance of the animation library, making independent decisions about style, tone, and quality.
• Implement and test release-ready animations in Essential Mod and Minecraft.
• Review projects, identify animation issues early, and collaborate across disciplines to resolve them.
• Participate in project meetings, kick-offs, reviews, and async alignment sessions.
• Solve novel rigging and technical challenges while maintaining efficient production workflows.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of experience in a Senior Animator role or equivalent senior-level responsibilities.
• Professional experience collaborating within a team environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to understand tasks and execute them independently.
• Applicants must be 18 years or older and commit to 30 hours per week.

Nice to have

• Experience implementing animations directly in Minecraft.
• Familiarity with function-based animation systems.
• Basic coding or scripting knowledge.
• Knowledge of the Minecraft community or Minecraft Marketplace.
