Lab Engineering Technician

TL;DR

Lab Engineering Technician (Semiconductor Packaging): Support engineering teams by preparing samples, executing experimental measurements, and maintaining lab equipment with an accent on hands-on fabrication techniques and custom tool development. What you will do

• Prepare and fabricate samples using soldering, epoxy bonding, cutting, polishing, spray painting, and sensor attachment.
• Conduct experimental measurements and assist in developing new measurement approaches.
• Build and modify custom fixtures, tools, and lab setups for prototypes and development work.
• Record, organize, and document test results, observations, and experimental conditions.
• Create and maintain technical documentation including SOPs and work instructions.
• Perform preventive maintenance, calibration support, and basic troubleshooting on lab equipment.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized lab environment.

Requirements

• Meet one: Associate degree in technical field + 2+ years equipment maintenance; Bachelor’s in STEM; HS Diploma/GED + 4+ years manufacturing/military technical experience; HS + 2.5+ years equipment maintenance; or HS + 3+ years technical certification.
• Minimum 1+ year of laboratory experience.
• Fast learner able to adapt to new tools and methods.
• Strong organization, attention to detail, and judgment for non-routine tasks.
• Clear communication skills verbally and in written reports.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively.

Nice to have

• Semiconductor technical experience.
• Familiarity with lab tools like optical microscopes, multimeters, polishers, saws.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Experience with optical measurement equipment, mechanical test systems, fabrication/machining, CAD (SolidWorks).
• Strong data analysis and documentation skills.
