DNI Software Engineering Co-op (Embedded)

TL;DR

DNI Software Engineering Co-op (Embedded): Assisting with requirements, design, coding, and integration of software for DNI systems with an accent on real-time control of simulated navigation and datalink equipment. Focus on developing software test procedures, troubleshooting discrepancy reports, and implementing embedded software across various RTOS.

Location: In-plant position in Tampa, FL. Must be a U.S. citizen.

What you will do

• Develop and evaluate interfaces between hardware and software for real-time control of navigation and datalink equipment.
• Participate in the full software development life cycle, including requirements analysis, design, implementation, integration, and testing.
• Create software test procedures, design documents, and related technical documentation.
• Perform system-level integration and troubleshooting within simulators and laboratory environments.
• Utilize C++, C, and Ada across Windows, Linux, and RTOS such as VxWorks, QNX, and Integrity.
• Conduct peer reviews to identify, track, and correct software defects.

Requirements

• Must be a U.S. citizen due to government contract requirements.
• Must be eligible for DoD Personal Security Clearance.
• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field.
• Practical coding experience in C or C++.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.

Nice to have

• Simulation or stimulation experience with DNI subsystems (e.g., Link-16, TAWS, TCAS, TACAN).
• Knowledge of Object Oriented programming.
• Experience using JIRA.
