Senior IT Security Consultant (Cybersecurity)

Location: Leeds, United Kingdom. Must have the right to work in the UK, be able to attain UK Security Clearance, and be willing to travel within the UK for projects.

What you will do

• Identify, assess, and monitor security risks to IT systems and conduct threat assessments.
• Design and implement proportionate security controls and ensure security by design for new systems.
• Develop security metrics and conduct security audits, controls tests, and assurance exercises.
• Ensure compliance with international, national, and customer security standards and regulations.
• Support customer organizations in improving their security posture and provide incident response assistance.
• Prepare technical documentation and reports for both technical and non-technical audiences.

Requirements

• Proven experience in IT security (typically 3+ years).
• Knowledge of GDPR, privacy by design, and security frameworks such as ISO27001, NIST800-53, CE+, or COBIT.
• Experience with DevSecOps and general IT architecture (networking, databases, operating systems).
• Right to work in the UK and ability to attain UK Security Clearance.
• Willingness to do UK-based travel for projects.
• Relevant certifications such as CISMP, COMPTIA Security+, CISSP, or CISM (or equivalent experience).

Nice to have

• Knowledge of NCSC cloud security principles and experience with Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud.
• Knowledge of HM government standards and processes including NCSC Guidance, GovS007, SAF, JSP 440, and JSP 453.
