What you will do

• Design and implement scalable backend services and high-performance platforms with a focus on uptime and speed.
• Build and manage USSD menus, short-code flows, and charging engines for the Rwandan market.
• Integrate with Rwandan MNOs (MTN, Airtel) for USSD, charging, and Mobile Money services.
• Develop secure, low-latency APIs and adapters while ensuring compliance with RURA, privacy, and KYC/AML rules.
• Optimize system performance through profiling, memory/CPU tuning, and database optimization.
• Improve engineering quality via code reviews, CI/CD pipelines, and test automation.

Requirements

• 6+ years of experience in C#/.NET (specifically .NET Core).
• Proven experience delivering USSD services and telco charging integrations in Rwanda.
• Strong SQL skills, including schema design and complex stored procedures.
• Experience with Docker, CI/CD, Redis, and public cloud platforms (AWS preferred).
• Proficiency in building stateless services, caching, and RESTful APIs.
• English: Professional working proficiency required.

Nice to have

• Experience with Mobile Money, SMPP/SMS gateways, and OAuth2/OpenID Connect.
• Familiarity with observability tools like Prometheus, Grafana, and OpenTelemetry.
• Knowledge of other African markets and telco integration specifics.
