What you will do

• Operate as a senior individual contributor owning production for distributed systems at real-time scale.
• Manage the on-call rotation for critical infrastructure, leading incident response and creating durable improvements.
• Develop observability systems using Grafana and Loki to transition the team from reactive to proactive monitoring.
• Develop and maintain production code in C++, while contributing to emerging Rust and Go components.
• Optimize and manage a diverse database stack including Cassandra, MongoDB, and MySQL.
• Contribute to "Backend 2.0", a ground-up platform modernization centered on AI-native engineering workflows.

Requirements

• Extensive experience shipping C++ in production and working with large-scale backend codebases.
• Proven track record of owning production reliability for distributed systems at scale.
• Deep technical expertise in at least one of Cassandra, MongoDB, or MySQL.
• Experience using AI-assisted development tools and defining AI rules/workflows for engineering teams.
• Must be based in or able to work hybrid in Austin, Texas.

• Proficiency with Rust or Go.
