What you will do

• Lead and execute complex negotiations with banking partners, payment schemes, and other financial institutions.
• Provide legal support for strategic partnerships with global technology and platform partners to ensure robust and compliant fund and data flows.
• Manage, mentor, and develop a team of legal counsel focused on financial and strategic partnerships.
• Design and implement scalable processes, templates, and playbooks for repeatable contracting.
• Champion the use of AI tools for contract review, risk analysis, and PRD analysis to improve speed and quality.
• Advise executives on risk-weighted options and trade-offs for high-value partnerships, including stablecoin initiatives.

Requirements

• 10+ years of post-qualification experience as a lawyer in fintech, payments, banking, or adjacent financial services.
• Deep experience drafting and negotiating complex commercial and regulatory agreements with banks and payment schemes.
• 3+ years of experience managing lawyers or cross-functional legal teams.
• Proven ability to build legal processes and templates that enable efficient contracting at scale.
• Strong familiarity with payments, issuing, embedded finance, and cross-border regulatory frameworks.
• Qualified to practice law in a common law jurisdiction (e.g., Singapore, England & Wales, US, Australia).

• Experience in a senior partnerships legal role at a high-growth fintech or global payments company.
• Experience implementing AI-enabled legal tools for knowledge management or contract review.
